“Sail Me” ist - soweit uns bekannt ist - eines der ersten Musik-Videos, die je auf einer Canon D7 gedreht wurden. Dreh war Anfang Oktober.
Unter fast schon spektakulären Bedingungen ist es entstanden:
Montag: ein Anruf von Toby Breitenbach bei Max Heidenfelder mit der Bitte ein Streetvideo ohne SchickSchnak zu drehen. Dienstag: Regen. Mittwoch: 6 Stunden Dreh bei Sonnenuntergang. Donnerstag, Freitag, Samstag: Regen. Sonntag: 6 Stunden Dreh bei Sonnenaufgang. Und letztendlich eine Nacht Schnitt von Sonntag bis Montag Morgen um 7 Uhr.
Gear: Canon 7D Body, Canon 50mm 1,8 und Sigma 28mm 1,8 ,Redrock Follow Focus Selbstgebauter Mini Glidetrack. Das war es an Equiptment.. kein Rig, kein Monitor, kein Z-Finder…. Das war alles, die erste Nutzung nach dem Auspacken.
Nun ist es soweit, mit der neuen Website und zur richtigen Zeit, stellen wir es Euch nun auch endlich vor ….viel Spass!

“Sail Me” is one of the first music-videos ever to be shot on a Canon D7 - as far as we know. We procuced it beginning of october.
The whole production-process was nothing less than spectacular:
Monday: a phonecall by Toby Breitenbach to Max Heidenfelder, asking for a very basic and simple street-video. Tuesday: rain. Wednesday: 6 hours shooting by sunset. Thursday, friday, saturday: rain. Sunday: 6 hours shooting by sunrise. And finally one night of cutting from sunday til monday morning 7 a.m..
Gear: Canon 7D Body, Canon 50mm 1,8 und Sigma 28mm 1,8 ,Redrock Follow Focus homemade glidetrack, that was it, no monitoring, no z finder.. nothing. First time use out of the box.
And here we are today. With a new website and the right timing, we are excited to show you what we did ….enjoy!

[Am Set Lilja] “Aber wehe du bringst mich rein! Du darfst mich gerne im Making of zeigen, aber sonst nicht!
[Lilja] Wie Max, gebärdet Max, und ich in Kontakt kamen? Vor ungefähr einem halben Jahr schrieb mich die Firma “DEAFVISION” an. Sie erzählten von einer hörenden Person, die ein Musikvideo machen wollte. Es sollte auch Gebärdensprache beinhalten. Sie fragten mich, ob ich mir vorstellen könne, die Person zu unterstützen und ihr zu helfen. Sie gaben mir den Kontakt, ich überlegte, rief ihn an und wir unterhielten uns. Plötzlich hatte ich das Gefühl, dass wir auf einer Wellenlänge liegen. Bis jetzt läuft es absolut prima. Die Teamarbeit ist klasse.

[Lilja] Was ist das Ziel dieses Musikvideos?
[00:01:41.87] Du kennst die Standart Musikvideos mit Geschichten und Musik-Spiel.
[00:01:51.02] Aber Gehörlose bekommen von der Musik und ihrem Inhalt nicht viel mit.
[00:01:56.46] Dieses Video ist anders.
[00:01:58.03] Wir wollen den Rythmus, Ausdruck und Musik zeigen, ebenso wie den Text.
[00:02:03.63] Und das natürlich über die Gebärden.
[00:02:07.75] Deshalb sind auch 4 gehörlose Personen dabei, die selbst super gebärden.

[Set: Lilja] “Do not use these in the video! You can show them in the making of but nowhere else!
[Lilja] How did Max, signed Max, and I get in contact? About six months ago, the company “Deafvision” wrote to me. They told me about a hearing Filmmaker who was planning to shoot a music video. With German Sign Language an integral part. They asked me if I could offer support to help the producer realise this. I got the contact, thought about it for a moment, called him and we talked. I really got the impression we really vibed with each other. Up until now it has all worked perfectly. The teamwork is brilliant.

[Lilja] What is the aim of the music video? You know standard music videos with story and music. Most hearing impaired people won’t get the music or its lyrical content. Our video is different. Our video is different. We want to show the rhythm,expression and music as well as the words. …naturally through sign language. That’s why four skilled Deaf performers participate!

[Eric] Also, was machen wir hier? Das ist ein Projekt für einen Film der Musik und Gebärden integriert.
[Fabian] Genau, das Musikvideo der Band „Breitenbach“ und Max.
[Anna] Es geht um Rockmusik.
[Eric] Genau!
[Fabian] Hier mitzumachen ist ein tolles Gefühl. Gehörlose und Hörende arbeiten zusammen an diesem Projekt. Alle geben sich hier Mühe, langsam zu sprechen oder gebärden zu lernen. Das ist perfekt.
[Eric] Es ist toll, dass unsere Welten nicht voneinander getrennt werden, sondern ineinander greifen.
[Anna] Und Hörende, die vorher die Gehörlosen nicht kannten, sehen nun, dass es Gehörlose wie uns gibt.
[Eric] Natürlich können Gehörlose auch bei Musik mitmachen. Klar können sie das! Es gibt so viele verschiedene Musikarten: Bei Hiphop können Gehörlose hiphop gebärden, bei Rock eben rockig. Es gibt so viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten.
[Fabian] Mensch ist Mensch. Nur, dass Gehörlose eben nicht hören können. Fertig!Aber außerdem - es gibt ja die Gebärden, man kann langsam sprechen und die Vibrationen spüren.
[Anna] Es ist abhängig vom Talent. Wenn Gehörlose dafür das Talent haben, ist es kein Problem!

[Eric] What are we doing here? We are working on a project that integrates music and sign language.
[Fabian] Yes, this is the new music video by the Band “Breitenbach” and Max.
[Anna] It´s rock-music.
[Eric] Exactly!
[Fabian] Being part of this project feels great.This project is a joint production of Deaf and Hearing people. Each person is highly motivated to speak slowly or to learn some signs. In contrast to other projects, this is perfect.
[Eric] It´s great, that our worlds aren´t separated, but instead integrated.
[Anna] This project has allowed Hearing people who have never met any Deaf people to discover that there are people like us.
[Eric] There is no doubt that Deaf people can be included in making music.
That is absolutely clear!There are so many different genres of music: Hiphop can be signed in a hiphop-way, rock music can be signed in a rock style. There are so many possibilities.
[Fabian] We are all humans. The only difference is that Deaf people can´t hear. That´s all. And besides - we can use sign language, you can speak slowly and we can feel the vibration of the music.
[Anna] Deaf people can be as talented as others in this field. So there absolutely no problems at all.

[Eric] Alors, que faisons nous ici? Ceci est un projet pour un film qui intègre musique et language des signes.
[Fabian] Exactement, le clip vidéo du groupe “Breitenbach” et de Max.
[Anna] Il s’agit de musique rock.
[Eric] Exactement!
[Fabian] C’est une très belle sensation d’y participer. ourds et entendants travaillent ensemble. Tous se donnent de la peine de parler lentement o d’apprendre le language des signes. C’est parfait.
[Eric] C’est superbe que nos mondes ne sont pas séparés, mais s’enchainent.
[Anna] Et les entendants qui ne connaissaient pas de sourds auparavant, voient à présent qu’il y a des sourds comme nous.
[Eric] Évidemment les sourds peuvent aussi participer à la musique. Biensûr qu’ils le peuvent! Il y a tellement de sorte différentes de musique: Pour le hip hop les sourds peuvent faire du hip hop en langue des signes, ainsi que pour le rock… Il y a tellement de différentes possibilités.
[Fabian] Un être humain est un être humain. Sauf que les sourds n’entendent pas, c’est tout! Mais en plus, il y a les signes, on peut parler lentement et sentir les vibrations.
[Anna] Les sourds peuvent avoir un talent pour ça aussi. Alors, pas de problème du tout!
